Assistant Professor receives Resubmission Pilot Grant
Nicholas

The Office of Nursing Research (ONR) has awarded its Resubmission Pilot Grant for Risk of Chronic Post-Surgical Pain Across Sleep Trajectories and Inflammatory Presentations to Nicholas Giordano, PhD, RN, an assistant professor with Emory University's Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing. The resubmission pilot grant provides funding for twelve months to support the procurement and integration of updated actigraphy devices and demonstrate the feasibility of achieving enrollment for this study in a timely manner. This research project will inform the development of future multimodal patient-centered interventions capable of modifying problematic sleep presentations preoperatively to improve postoperative outcomes.

Dr. Nicholas Giordano is an Assistant Professor tenure track. His research focuses on characterizing biopsychosocial symptom trajectories that can be utilized to stratify individuals at risk for experiencing poor health outcomes and inform the timely delivery of targeted interventions.
