Hungry Games carnival aims to fight food insecurity on campus

The Office of Student Success Programs and Services will host the first Hungry Games carnival and field day on the Quad, Saturday, March 18, from noon to 3 p.m. Students and other members of the university community are invited to donate nonperishable foods for fellow students in need and enjoy music, participate in games and compete for prizes.

“Our goal is to support the Open Pantry at the Bread Coffeehouse at Emory and elevate community awareness of student food insecurity on our campus,” says Student Success coordinator Marcus Jenkins 15C. The event will be led by office staff and Emory students.

The Office of Student Success Programs and Services also leads other initiatives to address food insecurity. These include meal vouchers during the school year and meals on campus over spring break.

An office of Emory Campus Life, Student Success helps Emory students meet a range of financial, academic, medical and social challenges.
