Professional Communication series focuses on career development

A four-part series focused on communication skills for career development kicks off Feb. 22 and continues through April.

Hosted by the Career Center, the Professional Communications Series includes the following workshops:

• Part 1: "Speaking Clearly & Confidently in the Interview" is Monday, Feb. 22, from 5:30-7 p.m. at the Career Center. Practice with your peers as you gain a foundational understanding of public speaking during the interview process.

• Part 2: "Presenting in Front of Others with Feedback" is Tuesday, March 15, from 5:30-7 p.m. in Cox Hall Ballroom. Apply the skills you practiced in Part 1 to deliver your elevator pitch or respond to common interview questions and receive constructive feedback from your peers.

• Part 3: "Professional Writing at Work" is Monday, March 28, from 4-5 p.m. in White Hall 111. Learn about written communication in the workplace, including how to email your future boss and what is appropriate to put in writing.

• Part 4 focuses on building your online brand and is set for Thursday, April 14, from 5-6 p.m. at the Career Center. Laptops are encouraged as you learn to establish your online brand through LinkedIn, personal websites and other tools.

Workshops are open to students in Emory College of Arts & Sciences as well as other members of the Emory community. Visit the Career Center for more information and resources.
