Concert series concludes on a humorous note

Vega String Quartet

Enjoy music and laughter at "Musical Jokes" on Friday, May 8, 12 p.m. in the Michael C. Carlos Museum Reception Hall.

This concert is the final Cooke Noontime Concert of the season, which runs monthly from September to May in the academic year.

The Emory Chamber Music Society of Atlanta (ECMSA) will feature humorous music including the Haydn Quartet known as "The Joke" and works by Beethoven, Wilhelm Friedemann Bach and his “forgotten brother” P.D.Q. Bach.

In between each piece, the performers — the Vega Quartet and pianists Elena Cholakova, Sophia Lu and William Ransom — will tell their favorite musical jokes.

All ECMSA concerts are free of charge, but contributions are encouraged towards the Katz Foundation's matching challenge grant to keep a string quartet in residence at Emory and in Atlanta on a permanent basis.
