Scuba, fitness and self-defense classes offered this summer

The Woodruff Physical Education Center (WPEC) offers a variety of fitness and instructional classes starting in May.

Currently, all group fitness classes are free to all students and WPEC members through Saturday, May 10.

Class starting this month:

  • Group Fitness classes begin May 19. Cost is $15 for students; $30 for WPEC members for unlimited classes this summer. These include yoga, Pilates, Zumba, cardio kickboxing and more.
  • SCUBA certification begins May 15 with a maximum of 12 participants. Instruction includes details about gear and equipment; water entries; surface dives; use of mask, fins and snorkel; the science of scuba diving; and in-the-pool training with tanks.
  • Tae Kwon Do begins May 19. Classes on this traditional Korean martial art will be held all summer long  with unlimited access for $30.
  • A five-week self defense class begins May 21 with a maximum of 24 participants. The course is $20 for students and WPEC members and $30 for non-members.
