Hands-on activities are all part of the fun at the Creativity & Arts Soiree on Sept. 7. Emory Photo/Video.

The Emory College Center for Creativity & Arts hosts the fifth annual Creativity & Arts Soiree Friday, Sept. 7 at 5:30 p.m. in Emory’s Schwartz Center for Performing Arts. Get a taste of the 2012-2013 Arts at Emory season with presentations spanning from dance performances and readings to design installations and music concerts.

This year’s Soiree launches a yearlong celebration of the Schwartz Center for Performing Arts 10th Anniversary. Opened in February of 2003, the Donna and Marvin Schwartz Center for Performing Arts serves as a place where teaching, learning and performance merge to create a vital arts presence for Emory and its surrounding community. In the past decade, the Schwartz Center has hosted hundreds of performances by world-renowned guest artists, talented students and faculty.

Soiree entertainments conclude with a reception and presentation of the Creativity & Arts Awards, recognizing Emory and metro Atlanta community members who have made significant artistic and administrative contributions to the arts in Atlanta. The awards presentation begins at 6:45 p.m. in the Chace Upper Lobby of the Schwartz Center.
