Emory Police to inspect child safety seats

The Emory Police Department is conducting a Child Safety Seat Check-up on Friday, June 17, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 1705 Lowergate South Parking Deck.

Inspections of the car seats are designed to help ensure that children in the seats are properly secured to help prevent injury in cases of vehicle crashes.

Each inspection will take approximately 30 minutes. Appointments are recommended and can be made by calling Officer Darrell Johnson at 404-727-5662.

Parents are encouraged to bring their child to the inspection, which will help safety seat experts determine that the straps are properly adjusted to fit the child.

Technicians will check model numbers to make sure the safety has not been subject to a recall.

Parents are also asked to bring the safety seat manual if available.

For more information, contact Johnson.

Emory Transportation and Parking Services is a co-sponsor of this event.
