Surplus Property 'School's Out Sale' includes clothing, other items donated by students

Get clothing, household and other items for as little as $1 at the “School’s Out Sale,” which is ongoing at Emory’s Surplus Property facility at the Briarcliff Property.

Student donations from the annual “Donate It, Don’t Dump It” campaign are being sold. The sale, open only to students, faculty and staff, will continue as long as supplies last.

Proceeds will be given to “To Write Love on Her Arms,” a nonprofit that invests in treatment to help those struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury and suicidal thoughts.

All sales are final; only checks and money orders are accepted.

“We have sorted out some winter clothing, appliances, food and a few other household items. They are on display at Surplus," says James Harper, program administrative assistant in Campus Services. "The majority of items will be sold for $1. We have some amazing donation bargains coupled with surplus items at always low prices.”

Harper also encourages buyers to check out the stock of furniture, tables, shelving, file cabinets and more that Surplus sells to keep out of the landfill.

Hours are Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Surplus Property is located at 1256 Briarcliff Road, Building B. Parking is in Lot J. Loading assistance is available on Wednesdays only.
