The Federal Bureau of Investigation has launched a federal civil rights investigation into the incident that occurred Oct. 5 at the Alpha Epsilon Pi Fraternity house on the main Emory University campus. The AEPi house, an historically Jewish fraternity, was the target of crude, offensive graffiti, including swastikas.

The Emory Police requested assistance from the FBI soon after Emory began its investigation and will continue to work in partnership with the FBI throughout the investigation.

The Emory community has condemned this abhorrent act, which does not reflect the values of the university. University religious leaders and Campus Life officials continue to provide support to the affected students and the entire community.

Anyone with information regarding the incident should contact the FBI Atlanta Division 404-679-9000. For media queries about the investigation, contact Stephen Emmett, 404-679-6451.
