Emory named among top universities for research, service, social mobility

Emory University is ranked among the nation's top national universities by Washington Monthly in its eighth annual 2013 College Rankings, which "aim to identify institutions that are acting on behalf of the true public interest," according to the publication's editors. 

Emory was listed 26th among national universities, which according to the magazine's website, were rated on their contribution to the public good in three categories:

  • Social Mobility (recruiting and graduating low-income students),
  • Research (producing cutting-edge scholarship and Ph.D.s), and
  • Service (encouraging students to give something back to their country).
