Honors for Blakely, Freer, Holbrook, Garland-Thomson and Wold

Sandra Lynn Blakely has been named a 2013-2014 Getty Scholar.

Blakely is associate professor in the Department of Classics, where she studies classics, anthropology and Greek religion.

This year's Getty Scholars will explore the art-historical impact of maritime transport. Blakely's topic for the theme is "Seafaring and the Sacred: Maritime Networks and the Cult of the Great Gods of Samothrace."

Richard Freer and Tim Holbrook received honors from the American Law Institute.

Freer was named a lifetime member of the ALI. He is Robert Howell Hall Professor of Law.  

Holbrook was elected to membership in the ALI. He is associate dean of the faculty and professor of law.  

Rosemarie Garland-Thomson has been chosen as Emory's participant in the HERS Wellesley Institute.  

Garland-Thomson is professor of women's, gender and sexuality studies and English.

HERS Wellesley Institute is an educational nonprofit providing leadership and management development for women in higher education administration.

Judith Wold will be inducted into the National League for Nursing Academy of Nursing Education Fellowship.  

Wold is Distinguished Professor for Educational Leadership at the Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing.  

During a formal ceremony at NLN's 2013 Education Summit in Washington, D.C., in September, Wold will join the academy's 144 fellows representing nursing schools and programs throughout the United States.
